My name is Evelyn Martinez. I was raised in San Diego, however, I spent 3 years in Washington (state), from the ages of 11 to 14 due to being in a military family. Those 3 years in Washington really shaped and prepared me for my return to San Diego where I began my high school career at Otay Ranch high school. Within my high school years I spent a lot of time running for the cross country and track team where I made a lot of new friends that I’m still friends with to this day. I graduated high school as an honors student and after debating between attending CSU San Marcos and SDSU, I decided that SDSU was the better fit for me. I am now a sophomore at SDSU and I have really enjoyed my time here so far. As a student majoring in journalism, I am looking forward to learning all that I can to better prepare myself for obtaining a career in this field.
